Cleaning & Exams

To properly combat tooth decay and gum disease, we recommend a professional dental cleaning at least once every six months. Along with thorough brushing and flossing at home, our skilled hygienists can remove hard-to-reach plaque that toothbrushes tend to leave behind and build up over time, resulting in long-term dental health difficulties.

Make sure your at-home treatment includes appropriate hygiene habits and the use of an ultrasonic tooth brush with fluoride toothpaste to receive the best results when you visit us.

Metal-Free Dentistry

A certain percent of the population is either allergic (a damaging immune response by a substance) to or hypersensitive (intolerant) to metals including the metals mercury and nickel often used in dentistry. Dr. Belsky has trained to help recognize metal allergy and hypersensitivity reactions in dental patients. He is also trained to successful treat those patients.

We use only metal free crowns and have found no tissue, systemic or oral reaction to these metal free crowns. We also offer White Composite fillings. White composite fillings are recommended when fillings are needed for individuals suspected of having dental metal allergies.

Oral Sedation

We use Oral Sedation procedures to provide a relaxing and anxiety-free experience for certain anxious people receiving dental treatment who have a high fear of dental treatment. It enables individuals too afraid to go to the dentist or with other issues (an exaggerated gag reflex) to receive the dental care they need while avoiding the common apprehension known as dental phobia.

Oral Sedation treatment for dentistry is now the most common technique used in the United States and Canada to quell patient fears. The technique used is easy and requires no IVs to administer.

Oral sedation dentistry maintains a level of consciousness in the patient for safety and cooperation with procedures. Sedation is a process used to establish a relaxed, easy and calm state through the procedure. Our sedative medications are usually used in conjunction with Nitrous Oxide (Laughing Gas) for a more pleasant dental experience

Partials & Dentures

We offer three types of removable partials. The first is a very strong and durable cast metal framework partials. A more economical partial is made out of acrylic (plastic).

Acrylic partials may look very good but are not designed for firm chewing or support. They may or may not have metal clasps for retention.

The third type is called a Valplast partial (metal-free). Valplast is designed with no metal for patients wishing to avoid metals. It is not as strong as a cast partial but stronger than an acrylic partial. The clasps or support on the Valplast partial are metal free.

Our office also offers Full Denture Appliances and implant retained Full Denture Appliances. A standard Denture is removable, or the newest type of Denture is firmly supported by 4 implants and firmly attached to those implants. They are called Implant Supported Dentures and are for those patients with severe retention issues or for those patients who desire a very firm fit of their new denture.

TMD/TMJ Disorder

Temporomandibular Joint Disorder (TMJD) is a dangerous condition that affects a system of muscles and bones in the hinge that connects your upper and lower jaws. It is most commonly linked with intense discomfort and an unpleasant clicking feeling behind the jaw. TMJ symptoms vary from person to person, and not all of them are required for diagnosis. You might get headaches, tinnitus, jaw point pain, swelling, neck pain, or swallowing problems.

Treatment: an "orthotic bite splint" is recommended along with specific jaw exercises and muscle relaxing supplements from our office. In most cases 80% of a diagnosed and treated patients’ symptoms are eliminated within 30 days of recommended treatment.

Implants

Implants are used to replace missing teeth or to add retention to loose appliances (Dentures or Partials). Dentures can even be attached to implants for a very firm and tight fit. An implant is a titanium core similar to the root of a natural tooth. Your own bone will integrate around the implant to make it as tight as a natural tooth. An implant post and conventional crown can be attached to the implant for firm and natural fit. Implants should be as firm as a natural tooth with some common precautions applied.

Our high-quality, custom-made tooth implants will begin with the delicate insertion of an artificial root into the bone structure of your jaw, which will then serve as the foundation for the placement of your replacement tooth, resulting in a natural-looking result
